The summer season is officially here.
OK, that might be a slight exaggeration, given that there’s still more than a foot of snow on the ground and temperatures are still dipping below freezing. Also, it’s early March. But all that said, the good folks at Wolffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack have just released the 2014 vintage (photo above) of our favorite summertime beverage. Which means, we’re putting away the snow shovels. Was it only a few months ago that the Hamptons was desperately short of rosé?
But wait, there’s more! Wolffer reports that this is its first vintage with a screwcap closure. (That will be handy for consuming at the beach when one has forgotten a corkscrew.)
We paid $18 for a bottle and are looking forward to imbibing, as soon as it’s 5 p.m. somewhere.
Below, workers at Wolffer take bottles of rosé off the assembly line. Keep that production moving along smoothly!
….and what weather conditions actually look like outside. Blue skies, but still a lot snow.
