If you’re running dangerously low on almond milk, fear not: Provisions Natural Foods is scheduled to re-open Thursday.
The Sag Harbor purveyor of all things organic, closed since March 15 for a long-awaited renovation, has been taking us on an odyssey in construction via its Instagram and Twitter accounts. Here’s a short video of Provisions’ new kitchen. Looks like the floors have been sanded to perfection. And we may be the first news outlet to report this, but the store’s freshly painted door is now the exact same color as the cucumber in the Provisions’ sign.
Provisions, a mainstay on 7 Main Street and a fixture in Sag for over 30 years, alerted customers to the short-term closure a few weeks back. “It’s finally going to happen,” a sign on the store says. “We’re going to open the new space.” The shop had been aiming for this coming Wednesday, but over the weekend announced via social media that it’s postponed the grand re-opening till Thursday instead.
Fans on Yelp give Provisions high marks for its juices, smoothies, breakfast specials, gluten-free offerings and more. Owner Rich Kresberg, who formerly managed a restaurant in the city, began a health-food diet in the early ’90s and never looked back, according to this article in Edible East End. He bought Provisions in 1996.
