Why hello, glorious Tuesday. (Not to brag about Hamptons weather, but we can’t remember the last time it wasn’t a glorious Tuesday.) And Great Scott! There’s a full moon tonight, a July “buck” moon, so-called because young bucks are sprouting antlers at this time — and with luck, avoiding vehicular incidents on the Montauk Highway. Our friends at the Old Farmer’s Almanac will be livestreaming the full moon (from a robotic telescope on the Canary Islands) although presumably you could also step into your backyard or onto your fire escape and see it for yourself. If anything goes haywire right now, blame the buck moon…

And in the distance, a werewolf howls

Speaking of full moons, Elements Fitness studio in East Hampton is hosting the cleverly named Full Moon SUP & Sip tonight, starting at 6 p.m. The studio is leading buff types on a 1.5 hour “exhilarating” sunset paddle excursion, followed by happy hour specials at the Maidstone hotel in East Hampton. “Tuesday night has never looked so good,” the studio says on Facebook. Details here.

Did that seagull just steal my sandwich?

We like how crazy this sounds. Starting Thursday, Ille Arts Gallery in Amagansett will present two “BE(R)D” shows a night (at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.) featuring Kate Mueth and The Neo-Political Cowgirls. The troupe will don signature feathered headdresses for 20-minute dance-theater pieces “examining the relationship between birds and humans,” all of which is “thought-provoking,” according to Ille Arts. Tickets are $10; details here.

Quick takes…

*Comic Con, sort of a nerd-fest for Sci-Fi fans (no judgment here), is apparently coming to East Hampton. The Aug. 7 pop-up fest will be hosted by Archie Comics Co-CEO Nancy Silberkleit, according to 27East.com

*Long Island Pulse Magazine will host Cocktails at Sunset this Thursday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Dockers Waterside, everybody’s favorite place to watch the sunset in East Quogue…

*Grindstone Coffee & Donuts in Sag Harbor, set to open Aug. 1, is hiring. And it seems to have…high standards? From the donut shop’s Facebook page:  “If you love coffee and donuts and want to work full time and year round, or even if you aren’t really into it but want a fun job part time for a few months, lets talk!” For the record, we are totally into coffee and donuts, but not looking for work. Lost. Opportunity.

Social Media Quote of the Day

“Fresh and local is the only way we know.” — Arbor restaurant in Montauk, posting this delicious photo (to non-vegetarians, at least) to Facebook.
