So this is the type of glorious fall weather we’ve been enjoying in the Hamptons, until the weather forecast — much like last night’s presidential debate — decided to go bananas. Hopefully we’ll be enjoying spectacular soon again. The Hampton Bee, as we’ve said before, does not officially endorse political candidates. But we want rational near the nuclear codes, people. So…perhaps we better start talking about the weather again. Let’s hope the sun peeks out again soon, in more ways that one.

Yet another chance to bump into Alec Baldwin

It is nearly Hamptons International Film Festival time, which means a summer-like-buzz and a few A-listers (hello, Edward Norton!) will return to East Hampton. This year’s HIFF runs from Oct. 6 – 10. Individual tickets just went on sale yesterday at noon, so you may still have a chance at getting something good…like the documentary Marathon, about the Boston bombing. So long, and thanks for all the fish

It is the time of year when places start having end-of-the-season parties. *Sigh. Farewell, golden light and endless bounty of summer. Ah well. On the flip side, any excuse for a party is fine with us. Dockers Waterside in East Quogue will be hosting its “Eat and Drink Us Dry” event on Oct. 9…Blue Parrot in East Hampton is preparing to bid adieu, also on Oct. 9, and inviting patrons to enjoy #DirtyBirdMargaritas until then…Oakland’s in Hampton Bays is not dealing with any confusion, dammit, over what days it’s open or not and has posted this incredibly useful (though somewhat primitive) calendar to Facebook.

Quick takes

  • BuckWHAT, which makes noshes, granola and all sorts of superfood goodness out of gluten-free buckwheat, is now sold in Whole Foods Brooklyn in Gowanus…
  • Westhampton Beach is gearing up for its second annual family-friendly Harvest Fest, Oct. 8…
  • Good news if you haven’t checked out the Susan Tepper exhibit (which features colorful abstract heads) at Tripoli Gallery in Southampton; it’s extended until Oct. 3…
