#TGIF! We’re in full-on summer mode, here in the Hamptons. There’s fresh-cut grass, sailboats on the harbor, and people complaining about everything from street fairs to outdoor dining regulations to helicopters to reality shows to Eleven Madison Park’s popup, EMP Summer House, being booked through August 15. STAY CALM, everyone.

It’s times like these where we say, “Can’t we just go back to the 1980s, when life was simpler and everyone wore acid-washed jeans?” Well, behold. Above is a John Stango painting (“Absolut Hamptons”) to get your weekend going. It will be featured in White Room Gallery’s “NeoPop2 (squared)” show, opening this Saturday in Bridgehampton, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. As always, we hope wine and cheese are served…

Quick takes

The East Hampton Star’s East magazine has this fascinating article about the Summer of Sam, which for whatever reason makes us nostalgic for when serial killer David Berkowitz stalked Atlantic Avenue – a.k.a. Asparagus Beach – in Amagansett…

If you thought the scene inside Montauk’s 7-Eleven this past weekend sounded scary (there were fist fights in the wee hours, according to 27East.com), imagine what it was like when the Concerned Businesses of East Hampton and Montauk descended upon town hall Thursday to protest proposed changes regarding outdoor dining…

In Insta-worthy news, Wölffer Estate Vineyard’s RoséDriveThru (where you can buy cases of rosé, without leaving your car) will now be open every Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m….

In breaking equestrian news, the Hampton Classic Horse Show has announced that Lynn Mara, a Southampton native, is this year’s Official Poster Artist. She really likes painting horses…

On tap for the weekend…

The work of Grant Haffner, the formerly local artist whose glorious canvases may have inspired the rainbow bagel trend, is on display (now through June 25) at Roman Fine Art in East Hampton….

The Salon and Day Spa in Amagansett Square is hosting a special event on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., to celebrate its new services, which include “microblading.” We had to look that one up. Contrary to what it sounds, it involves eyebrows and tattoos…

There is apparently a big soccer game this weekend (who knew) – Navy Beach will be showing Juventus v. Real Madrid C.F. at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. And showing a flair for drama, Indian Wells Tavern in Amagansett has put together this cinematographic video, inviting fans to watch the big game over $5 Heinekens.

The Springs garden of Marshall Watson, an interior designer, is open to the public (details here) on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., thanks to the Garden Conservancy’s Open Days….

Social Media Quote of the Day

“We’ve got some unusual lingo here in the Hamptons, so from Memorial Day to Labor Day we’re going to help y’all understand just what these things mean.” — The Hedges Inn in East Hampton, posting the definition of “Bonacker” in this Instagram photo. Thank you, Hedges Inn. We’d also like “Montauket” and “Shagwong” explained to us.
